For over twenty-five years, Dr. Carol A. Wray has been performing breast lifts and other breast procedures on women in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas including Salem, Blacksburg, Lynchburg and West Virginia, who desire improvement in breast shape, fullness or proportions.
What is a Breast Lift (Mastopexy)?
A breast lift or mastopexy is a procedure to lift and reshape breasts that have lost their shape from age, weight loss, nursing, or have just stretched out with development.
Benefits of a Breast Lift
Performed on its own or in conjunction with another breast procedure, patients receiving a breast lift benefit from the following:
- Improved shape lost from age, nursing, weight loss
- Elevated nipple position
- Better positioned breasts
- Enhanced physical appearance
How is a Breast Lift Performed?
Dr. Wray performs several different breast lifts depending on the nipple position, and how much excess skin is present. Sometimes the nipple position is changed a little, whereas other times the entire breast and nipple are lifted and reshaped.
Preparing for a Breast Lift
During the consultation, Dr. Wray evaluates your breasts, discusses your concerns and desires for changes with your breasts and will review the surgical techniques of a breast lift that best achieve the goals of each patient. We will review the benefits and risks of the procedure and be sure you understand what can be done to achieve your goals. You will see results that Dr. Wray has achieved to get a realistic expectation of the results of a breast lift.
Breast Lift Recovery
Immediately following the procedure, the patient is usually in a dressing that is wrapped around the chest. This is usually removed within five days and the patient is placed in a bra. Depending on the type of job, most patients are able to return to work within a week. Vigorous exercise can be resumed in three to four weeks.
Breast Lift Results
It is important to note that age, gravity and weight play a huge role in the position of the breasts making it important to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. Additionally, even though a breast lift does not increase the size of the breasts, they may appear fuller once a lift is complete.
How much does a Breast Lift Cost?
The cost of your breast lift will vary depending on the extent of the procedure. We accept cash and check as well as all major credit cards. We also offer financing through CareCredit®. Payment must be made in full prior to your surgery
Is a Breast Lift Right for Me?
If your breasts have begun to sag or droop due to age, gravity, weight loss or nursing, you may be a good candidate for a breast lift.
